Anesthesia technology is an emerging discipline of Allied Health Profession. BS in Anesthesia Technology at NWIHS is an undergraduate program based on knowledge, extensive clinical practicum and research. The curriculum for this course includes a combination of courses including Basic Medical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Social Sciences and Specialized courses related to the field of Anesthesia like; Equipment, Pharmacology of Anesthetics, History taking, Complications Related to Anesthesia and Critical Care, as well as far-reaching clinical training. By the end of this program, student will be able demonstrate competence in knowledge, skill and practices in compliance with national and international standards of patient care.
The BS Anesthesia course is a four years degree programme aimed at training students in the technological spheres of Anesthesia care, with a good scientific foundation. This course ensures that students will be in a position to assist the health care provider (Anesthesiologist, Surgeon) in a professional and scientific manner. On completion of the course they will play a key role in improving the quality of health care facilities in the province, country and across the globe. With advance training in the latest technology, these students will be able to open the door of new research in anesthesia technology and ensure the safety of the patient at all times.
- At least 50% marks in FSC.
- At least 50% marks in Matric.
- Passing Marks in Admission Test.
To equip the anesthesia technologist with modern skills and latest technical knowledge to help in health care delivery system and to prepare the graduate for higher studies and research purpose.
