DPT Program and Rescue 1122 Collaborate for an Impactful Three-Day BLS Workshop at NWIHS

The academic committee of the DPT program-Northwest College of Allied Health Sciences in close collaboration with Rescue 1122 has arranged a three-day (BLS) workshop for the faculty and students of the college.
The workshop covered below key areas of BLS:
1. Emergency Response (Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery)
2. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and effective team performance
3. Breathing management (relief of foreign-body airway obstruction and choking)
4. First aid treatment (wound cleaning, minor burn treatment and bandaging)
The workshop’s hands-on approach and expert instructions by the Rescue 1122 team including Mr. Mohammad Shafeeq, Medical Instructor and Mr. Khalil Ur Rehman, Training Coordinator received high praise from participants.
The support and leadership of Dr. Subhan-ur-Rehman, Principal NWIHS, Dr. Quratulain, vice principal of the college, Dr. Saba Khan, Head of the Academic Committee, and Dr. Tayyab Awan, Committee Member, ensured the workshop’s success.
Student members of the academic committee Mr. Amir Waqas, Ms. Fiza Qazi, Ms. Iqra Ghani, Ms. Zainab Anis and Mr. Muhammad Adnan played a significant role in organizing the Basic Life Support (BLS) workshop, demonstrating their dedication to the success of the event. Other students of the DPT program including Mr. Haris-ur- Rehman, Mr. Zohaib Aman, Mr. Obaid-ur-Rehman, Mr. Basit Ali and Mr. Atif Khan also played significant roles in helping out the academic committee members in organizing the workshop.
Mr. Mohammad Afsar Khan, Chief Operating Officer of NWIHS, has expressed his gratitude to the team of Rescue 1122 for their invaluable service in emergency response and management.
This collaboration demonstrates the college’s commitment to equipping its community with vital skills, enhancing its preparedness and response to emergencies, and ultimately contributing to a safer and more resilient community.
