Khyber Medical University Inspection Team paid visit to the Northwest Institute of Health Sciences Ring Road Peshawar on Wednesday 1st February 2023.
The inspection team was headed by Dr. Lal Mohammad, Convener Inspection Committee KMU along with Professor Dr. Musarrat Jabeen, Principal KMU Institute of Medical Sciences Kohat, Professor Dr. Tariq-Ullah Safi, Principal Pak International Medical College Peshawar, Dr. Anwar Ullah Khan, Assistant Professor MLT, Institute of Para Medics Sciences KMU, Mr. Mohsin Shah, Demonstrator Renal Dialysis Technology, KMU and Mr. Sameen Khan, Demonstrator emergency/ICU technology KMU Peshawar.
Mr. Afsar Khan, Chief Operating Officer received and welcomed the delegates. All HODs of the institute were introduced to the inspection team. A detail presentation regarding the institute was given by Dr. Subhan-U-Rehman, Principal NWIHS and Dr. Qurat-Ul-Aen Professor Social Sciences NWIHS. The delegates were briefed about the launching of two more new technologies-BS Renal Dialysis and BS Respiratory Therapy.
Dr. Subhan-U-Rehman, Principal NWIHS moderated a detail presentation about the institute’s strengths including curriculum development, research projects, academic facilities, information technology and future plans.
Curriculum Development is the prime priority of the institute and the institute have an inclusive curriculum that caters the needs of modern health system.
NWIHS have state of the art health care facilities including Northwest General Hospital and Northwest Teaching Hospital having 600+ beds capacity. Our students and graduates are being engage there in doing relevant health practices.
The institute offers variety of scholarships each year including merit and need based. Apart from this, NWIHS has been providing various facilities including “Student Lounge, Cafeteria, Indoor Sports, IT Lab, Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and Hostel and Transport facility.
The team carried out a comprehensive inspection of the departments, facilities including Information Technology Lab, Science Labs and Skills Labs, Lecture Rooms and Library.
The team showed great satisfaction over the facilities and requirements duly provided by the institute.
Later on, Mr. Afsar Khan, COO NWIHS appreciated the role and support of Admin staff particularly Mr. Saddam Hussain Bacha, Administrator Civil work for becoming successful the visit by their constant hard work and preparation in this regard.
