Northwest College of Nursing is a proud contribution of Alliance healthcare private limited registered with Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC), Higher Education Regulatory Authority (HERA) and affiliated with Khyber Medical University.
NWCN offers 4-year BSN Program comprised of eight semesters. The total number of credit hours are 133. The Curriculum is approved by HEC and PNC which includes, basic sciences, clinical sciences and compulsory subjects.
The curriculum utilized for BSN at Northwest College of Nursing is approved by the National Academic regulatory bodies including Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Nursing Council. The Curriculum aims to prepare clinically competent nurses who could apply the learned knowledge into practice safely and effectively.

Program Overview
Northwest College of Nursing offers 4 years undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing which is comprised of eight semesters and includes 133 credit hours. Apart from 4 years study one year clinical internship is mandatory for the successful completion of degree
The curriculum utilized for BSN at Northwest College of Nursing is approved by the regulatory bodies at national level including Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Nursing Council which covers the subjects from basic sciences, clinical sciences and Nursing Sciences. The Curriculum aims to; equip students with cognitive abilities, inculcate clinical competencies and to excel their professional capabilities in light of research and innovation.
CURRICULUM
This is a full time four years program divided into eight semesters that prepare the students through a creative process of development in which learning occurs by guided experience. The framework of BS Nursing education at NWIHS-CON is based on the competency model. This curriculum prepares nurses to use knowledge from science and humanities for making critical decisions and providing holistic care concerning the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of individual, families and communities. The curriculum is in line with the Regulations of the Pakistan Nursing Council and international standards for B.S Nursing degree program. In order to be awarded the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), it is necessary to complete all the eight semesters with a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
- Demonstrate sound theoretical knowledge and competency, with commitment and caring attitude which will facilitate the individuals, families and communities to meet their health care needs.
- Adhere to established patterns of professional practices within religious, cultural, legal and ethical boundaries of Pakistan.
- Utilize critical thinking and problem solving approaches in their day to day professional practice.
- Utilize effective interpersonal and communication skills, while dealing with peers, patients, families, communities and other professionals.
- Demonstrate leadership and management skills to enhance professional development.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of the existing healthcare system and policies in Pakistan.
- Assume responsibility for their own professional growth by seeking new information and evaluating once growth.
- Conduct research and utilize research findings to enhance evidence based practices in nursing.
- Conduct health education to promote earlier prevention and promotion of health.

This program provides students with comprehensive education and training. It reflects the mission of promoting health and well-being for all people, with emphasis on preparing students to be morally reflective healthcare leaders, scholars and professional nurses who have a broad knowledge of nursing science, humanities, biological and social sciences and gives rise to a curriculum in which a broad liberal arts education is balanced with the natural and behavioral sciences.
The core objectives to:
- Practice professional nursing and to demonstrate the use of critical thinking in clinical decision making.
- Formulate a personal and professional ethical framework to guide conduct and decision making in professional nursing.
- Evaluate, apply and communicate research findings to improve professional practice.
- Analyze and evaluate leadership and management theories in nursing practice.
- Evaluate the health policy process for the improvement of health care for all.
- Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development through continuing education and participation in professional organizations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian service as a component of professional nursing in a culturally diverse society.
- Engage in communication and collaboration with members of the health care team. Moreover, this program enables students to utilize scholarly skills to analyze the existing research work, apply existing nursing theories, and adopt evidence based practices in practice settings. Furthermore, this program is aimed to enhance students’ verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills and professional interaction with peers, clients, families and other health professionals.
