World Anesthesia Day Celebrated at Northwest Institute of Health Sciences
October 16th marks World Anesthesia Day, a global observance promoting awareness and education on the safe use of anesthesia in surgical and medical procedures. This year, the Northwest Institute of Health Sciences (NWIHS) commemorated the day with a seminar and exhibition, highlighting the significance of painless surgery made possible by anesthesia technology over the past 170 years.
The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Dr. Subhan-ur-Rehman Burki, Principal of NWIHS, and Dr. Qurat-ul-Aen, Vice Principal. Faculty and students of the Anesthesia Department also attended.
Mr. Nasir Mehmood, Head of the Anesthesia Department, welcomed participants and emphasized the critical role of anesthesia in surgical procedures.
The role of anesthetists is pivotal. They serve as a bridge between patients and physicians and must exercise the utmost care, ensuring every moment counts for the patient.
Dr. Subhan-ur-Rehman Burki, Principal of NWIHS underscored the importance of celebrating World Anesthesia Day to promote awareness and education among patients and practitioners about safe anesthesia usage.
The seminar concluded with the distribution certificates and prizes to distinguished guests and outstanding students.
